Dr. Friedlander has published two books, 17 peer reviewed articles, three book chapters and two semi-structured interviews. He has presented at more than one hundred conferences across Canada and internationally. He is the past Chair of the Developmental Disabilities Section of the Canadian Psychiatric Association and chairs the Planning Committee of the biennial B.C. Health and Wellbeing in Developmental Disabilities Conference in Vancouver, BC. Dr. Friedlander founded and is Director of the Developmental Disorders Program in the Dept. of Psychiatry at UBC. Individuals with Dual Diagnosis( Mental health and Developmental Disorders) have historically been marginalized both within the Developmental Sector and in Mental Health and the Developmental Disorders Program has been a leader in providing psychiatry residency training in this field.
